Hend Abdulmawla - Interior Designer
This is a project that I created about life in 2050; each student had to choose a prediction that could happened in 2050 and a city in order to design a ‘futuristic design’ in that city. My prediction was ‘in 2050 there will be no food and people will take tablets and capsules instead’.
I chose Old Sana’a as a city, which is a part of Sana’a, Yemen. Old Sana’a is one of the cities that maintains customs and traditions, so it was really interesting to create a space that will be in 2050, with paying attention to those cultures; food is one of the important things that help to keep the traditions, as family gathering, during meals, is one of the key things that maintain family links.
I created space that will maintain family gathering, even if there will be no food.
